Project "Upstream of the Kanina River"
THE PROJECT IS CARRIED OUT WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE OPERATIONAL PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS, PRIORITY AXIS: SUPPORT FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT UNDER LEADER (VOMR), MIG GOTSE DELCHEV - GARMEN - HAJIDIMOVO, procedure BG06RDNP001-19.580 "Preservation and promotion of local identity, cultural - historical and natural heritage', under Measure 7, with the financial support of the EUROPEAN AGRICULTURAL FUND FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT
The total cost of the project is BGN 19,950.00, with 100% EU funding
The implementation period is 30.06.2023 - 30.06.2025.
The goals of the project are preservation of the local cultural heritage on the territory of the MIG - Gotse Delchev - Garmen - Hadjidimovo and contribution to environmental protection, enlivening the territory of the MIG through activities to popularize the local identity, culture and traditions, turning the territory into an attractive a place to live and relax through initiatives to protect the environment, increase the capacity for sustainable development by actively involving the local community and especially young people in joint initiatives to promote the identity of the municipality of Garmen, increase public awareness and attract the interest of visitors to the richness of the cultural heritage in the area, turning the territory of the MIG into an attractive place for living and recreation through initiatives to protect the environment, involving the youth in the initiatives and building in them a responsible attitude towards participation in community actions with the aim of the overall development of the territory .
Within the framework of the project, the following activities are foreseen:
- Research and systematization of the multicultural life of the region reflected in the holidays, gastronomy and general history of the three settlements on the left bank of the Kanina River - the villages of Leshten, Gorno Dryanovo, and Kovachevitsa.
- Creation and maintenance of the project's website for the duration of its implementation.
- Organization of a thematic festival "On the upper reaches of the Kanina river".
- Conducting seminars among children and youth for the purpose of environmental protection, incl. their inclusion in afforestation activities.
The expected results of the implementation of the project are:
- Balanced development of the community, including the creation of conditions to reduce social isolation in the community and vulnerable groups in it, promotion of multicultural teamwork;
- Preservation and promotion of local identity, cultural - historical and natural heritage
- Revitalization of the area through the implementation of activities for the promotion of local identity, development of cultural and historical heritage;
- Increasing the capacity for sustainable development by actively involving the local community and especially young people in joint initiatives to promote the common identity;
- Raising public awareness and attracting interest to the wealth of cultural heritage;
- Making the area an attractive place to live and relax
- The development of tourism on the territory of the Municipality by attracting connoisseurs of alternative experiences
